Here's a blind shot at this (again)...
Efforts are being made to automatically generate a link to the hosting page of a direct image URL from a variety of sites. Pixiv sources have featured this for ages, and deviantART is a forerunner for an expansion of this functionality, with Hentai Foundry following, if not there already.
However, because this is so new, I have noticed manual Source replacement continuing. Before posting here again, I asked Toks for an opinion on adding a notice, either on these forums or a link alongside the Source field on the upload pages, but concern was made for such measures' effectiveness compared to added clutter of a separate writeup for a small list (or such). Suggestion was made for a script to check Sources for this behavior and contacting the uploaders to assure awareness. Personally, I'd like to request an exception to the way tag edits are handled, where any change to the source:* is recorded, though this would undoubtedly add clutter.
So, in taking up another slot in the Topics list, do any other users here have something to weigh in on this/these issue/s? I understand the Github is where this is most proactive, but if I'm not anomalous, there are other active users who confine to the 'booru itself, and even here, may not be up to speed in the "Danbooru 2 Issues" thread.
