[Feature Idea] Report Incident From Any Page

Posted under Bugs & Features

post #831064 gave me this idea. Basically, I just happened to be browsing the comments and saw that a user had reported an issue on the post itself. However, having to browse all of the comments for similar items like that would be a chore.

Therefore, would it be helpful if there was a user interface on every page that allowed a user to report an issue? I know that the forum can intimidate users, and having something that was easier access might encourage them to use that instead of just leaving a comment and hoping that one of the more technical users notices it and does something about it.

As far as how it would work, issues could either have their own page and database, or they could reuse the forums. For the forums, they could start a new topic or append a post to topic #9127. The post would include the page where the issue was logged from, any error messages generated by Danbooru, and finally any comments added by the user themselves.

Thoughts?

Anything with 'Error' or 'Complaint' would be a bit intimidating. People might duck away from making a fuss, or might feel it all feels a bit official.

'Report Issues Here' or something, may look more innocuous. I can't really see the forum being intimidating, yet despite my preference for the ornate over tedious minimalism some of the less self-explanatory links make it slightly weighty. I've been around nearly 10 years and have never discovered the points of Listing, Popular and Hot. Changes is somewhat technical, and since Subscriptions went, I haven't bothered with the cumbersome Saved Searches

There's not much that can be cut from the side column; but, thanks to Toks I am privileged to have the Options at the very top --- I'm sure that would be helpful to new members as an optional switch.

Maybe that could be bundled together with issue #2837

Yeah... I don't know... the report function from issue #2837 is for moderators, whereas the "Report Issues" function would be more for the technical users of this site. They also have different requirements, as I could see the moderators one requiring its own page with closed-off access, whereas the report issues could be as simple as a dialog box that posts to topic #9127.
