I imagine the main reason this doesn't already exist is because of the flash with sound tag. However, as support for uploading flash has been discontinued, it seems appropriate to create this alias. sound consistently sits on the upper half of Missed Searches, and I think video with sound is what people actually want 99.9% of the time. Even sound's wiki directs you exclusively to that tag.

sound is a pretty common search term on other websites, so I think this is a natural alias in accommodating that.

One possible alternate would be to remove the separation and alias flash with sound and video with sound together into a sound tag. You could then find the less common flash videos with a search of sound filetype:swf.

Given the fact that both the *with_sound tags already share audible music and audible speech, and your points, this seems fair enough to do! If we were to go with the merging idea instead, I'd propose including that search in the wiki proper, just for convenience's sake.

I think aliasing flash with sound and video with sound into sound is a better idea. I can't recall why we went with video with sound over just sound. For one thing, blacklisting all posts with sound so you don't get unexpected autoplaying audio might be useful for some people.

Going to +1 this as well; got quite the jump scare earlier when I clicked into what I thought was a silent animated post, but turns out it wasn't.

It was fixed in the code, it'll go live on next site update.

I was initially going to just request the imply part of this request, but that throws an error. A general tag can apparently not imply a meta tag.
There are a number of posts that fall through a small crack in the sound detector ~audible_speech ~audible_music -sound so I think that this could take care of that.

IIRC automatic sound detection was disabled because it threw out too many false positives.
