Alias sleep molestation -> somnophilia

BUR #6179 has been rejected.

create alias sleep_molestation -> somnophilia

Somnophilia is the technical term for the fetish associated with that tag.

To me the problem with the current wording of the tag (raised by topic #18947) is that calling it sleep "molestation" doesn't suit the way the actual molestation tag is used. Molestation is restricted to groping and similar acts, while sleep molestation includes anything from touching to undressing to banging, so it's a bit counter-intuitive as is. If there's a better wording I'm completely open for it though. Or if the tag doesn't need changing.

This is a downstream problem from using the word molestation specifically for unwelcome groping when both the dictionary and vernacular suggest any kind of sexual assault.

At the same time while groping by dictionary can be consensual it's not usually the meaning it takes in popular discourse (see grope in merriam webster vs groping in wikipedia)

The easiest solution would be

groping -> fondling (fondle is already aliased to groping)
molestation -> groping

Yeah, somnophilia just means... a tendency of becoming aroused by the sleeping state of someone else. The tendency or paraphilia itself. So the tag winds up being, well... very ambiguously named, with many acts possibly qualifying.

It's probably also a somewhat obscure term for the average user.

BUR #6181 has been rejected.

remove alias grope -> groping
remove alias fondle -> groping
create alias groping -> fondling

The use of groping overwhelmingly refers to unwelcome fondling, which is a more suitable name for the current tag

Molestation is used for any kind of sexual assault mostly penetration or child abuse, it is then misleading to use it exclusively for unwanted fondling

unaliasing nouns since the verb is more apt and they share the same leading characters for autocomplete purposes anyway

The idea is to rename current 'groping' to 'fondling' and current molestation to a new 'groping' tag. I don't know if I wrote the bur well but now that you mention it is kind of a confusing change to enact and for taggers to adapt to

Yeah I didn't notice that was the intended output. But still I don't agree with suddenly changing the meaning of such a large tag. Think about it from the perspective of a random user that doesn't read the forums, they'd never notice the change.

This. It's making the tag describe the fetish instead of the action itself. It feels weird. It's like renaming peeing to urophilia or footjob to foot fetish or something.

Groping and fondling are practically synonymous in my mind. Groping perhaps has a connotation of being less consensual than fondling, but it's not like fondling is obviously consensual and groping is obviously non-consensual. Molestation has a clearer connotation of being non-consensual.

In the interest of the argument we do have _philia tags like necrophilia instead of corpse_fucking (or forniphilia) but I do get the point yes. Ultimately like I said my issue was with the usage of molestation not fitting with the current definition for the molestation tag, but it's not really a big deal, as far as I've seen it's not particularly mistagged despite that.
