That last kanji means "Prefecture" or in the case of Tokyo: "Metropolis".
Here's what I understood from all this:
Hokkaido: Bears, Snow, Farms and the Ainu. The clock tower is the Sapporo Clock Tower. Miyagi: Sendai. Thus, Date Masamune. Niigata: Sado (and thus, Mamizou) is a part of Niigata Prefecture. Also, Uesugi Kenshin. Chiba: The Eight Dogs of the Satomi. Nagano: ZUN is native of this prefecture as well as Sanae (In the area of Lake Suwa) and Byakuren. Yamanashi: The Komeiji family name is most prevalent in this prefecture. Shiga: Koga Ninjas. Also, Hikonyan. Mie: Iga Ninjas. Nara: Asuka is within Nara Prefecture. Also, a fuckton of deer. Tottori: The creator of Kitaro, Shigeru Mizuki, is native of this prefecture. Okayama: The legend of Momotaro is well associated with this prefecture. Hiroshima: A baseball team as well as being the very first thing that got nuked in war. Kumamoto: Kumamoto castle and the symbol of random devil worshipping, Kumamon.
