I'd tentatively identify the plane as a Corsair. The cockpit isn't right for any Japanese models that I know of, except the Hien, which didn't have the blunt nose.

I'd rule out a Corsair. Unless it's poorly represented, the wings aren't right for it. The closest would be either the F4F Wildcat or the F6F Hellcat, and I'm leaning closer to the F6F myself.
It looks like an F6F to me, though I don't know much about WWII stuff - the layout of the canopy panels matches, including the little window behind the canopy proper, plus the landing gear's wrong for an F4F and it's missing the wing root intakes of the F4U.
The engine cowling with air scoops (?) on top and bottom isn't right for any of them, but it looks closest to the F6F's bottom scoop accidentally duplicated on top.
