*grabs Nanami* *points gun at Tooko* Don't you dare taint my Nanami with your horrid upgrade.
Case in point: Windows 10 has been a bitch with various devices of mine. Drivers crashing, blue screens, sluggishness... The list goes on. Do not approve.
well, joke on them, my computer can't upgrade no matter how many times I try up to the point where I give up and keep the windows 7 version
Windows 7 is far superior to 10. Just keep it. Although 10 is definitely better than 8. Fucking endless 8. Hands down worst OS Microsoft ever implemented.

If you game at all, you'll need to switch to Tooko as Nanami doesn't carry dx12 in her handbag. Unless you plan to stick to old games forever.
And this is what I plan to do. I pretty much only play old stuff (like SNES, Genesis, Arcade games or the like through emulators). Don't really care about modern games apart from Touhou. So I can keep Nanami as my forever OS for this lifetime.
That said, obsessive and psychotic win10-chan is a perfect fit, I'm surprised it didn't catch on. "Don't worry, I'll get rid of these previous versions for you. I'm here for you, so you won't need them, ri~ight?"

By default, if you upgrade to Windows 10, she'll keep Nanami tied up for about 30 days. However, if you disarm Tooko (at least stop her before she kills Nanami), you can rescue her by hitting the Uninstall Windows 10 button in the Advanced Boot Options menu.
The biggest thing I found is just the kernel being so damn unstable with WiFi drivers.
Razgriz-Actual said: At least Nanami knows the definition of Trust and Reliability. You know only to suck the dicks that Microsoft tells you to, same goes with Nanami's Twin Sisters. Go get Cuckqueened.
Can relate just recently. I was on Windows 10 Anniversary Update. Was having nightmares, sluggish performance and all that telemetry trying to steal my secrets, even with Anti-Beacon tools enabled. And my machine is a quad-core i5 with an SSD as the boot/system drive.
Tooko was stabbing me in the back. Every time I wanted to run some software that isn't the latest version (for example, a specific version of a game development tool), she'd smile with her knife in my back and go "Oh don't worry, you're program will run fiiine~". Then she'd laugh and throw an error box or force me to reboot because she silently downloaded a Windows Update even though I specified to not automatically update (which you can do on versions of Win10 that aren't home edition).
Nanami came running to me with open arms after I popped in the Windows 7 install disc. After getting all the updates and installing Blackbird V6 to battern down the hatches, she's quietly keeping me company and not getting in my way while I'm doing my daily work. As for Tooko? She's locked up in a VM cell. She does complain a bit and randomly lags inside the VM, but she deserves to be kept in there.
Windows 8.1 Pro is also a solid contender, but it sadly feels like a mish-mash of Windows 7 and Windows 10 with Metro elements feeling half-baked and all that - sure, Classic Shell fixes 90% of the Start Menu issues but WiFi menu for example is a sidebar, not a popup like in 7.
Apologies for the super long boring comment, but well, good to know a bunch of danbooru users rely on Windows 7 for their... ahem... private time. Or the odd browse.
(Also, the japanese version of Windows 7 is very polite with the error messages and prompts.)
Damn, all these comments aged really bad. Windows 10 was brilliant (excluding the privacy abuse).
It's funny that you could see the exact same arguments regarding windows 11 when it launched, tho there are still "those" people who's sole information source are old forum posts. Shit gets improoved over time, even windows 8 got better to some extent with 8.1.
