So this image and post #7289914 are actually concept art for a largely forgotten attempt to adapt MSG into a Hollywood film in 1983. The film was ultimately canceled early in production due to issues getting some of Gundam's rights holders on board, but ANN actually has a surprisingly in depth article on it with more of Syd Mead's concept sketches, some plot details, and even some excerpts from the actual script. Article here - the proposed plot was basically completely different from the original material, and some of the more notably wtf changes to the plot include Char being Amuro's 13 year old little brother, Bright not existing because the white base captain never dies, and the "Ziong" being an evil AI created by Amuro's father.
Not sure if it should get it's own copyright tag since it's a film that never actually came to be.

This would be an interesting "What If" scenario if anything. Maybe have the "evil faction" being manipulated from the start by this evil AI due to some glitch. The moral of the story would be what can happen when you let propoganda and misunderstandings control you; from both a personal level to a nation level.
