I actually expected Mami's line to be the one from ep. 10 about them being better off dead if they are going to turn into Witches and have Touma break THAT illusion of hers.
And we're being critical of him because? It was a fight! SHE HAD A GUN! He had to make the first hit. Besides, fight's a fight, doesn't matter if your opponent is a man or a woman

Because he beat up a middle schooler that looked like she was having fun.
In retrospect, Touma punching women may seem misogynistic, but it's really only because outside of that and giving speeches he doesn't really know how to do anything else really. And the women he punches tend to do things like go on rampages, destroy property, and all sorts of bad things. And people tend to forget that he punches men too [Accelerator, that pope guy].
The only reason I defend him is because Touma himself is actually a decent guy, it's just that the majority of the villains he comes up against tend to be females with all sorts of destructive powers for some strange reason.
Which is why this comic is kinda weird, since he usually has a good reason for punching things, whereas he's just punching Mami here for no good reason.
I maybe taking this thing a bit too seriously though.
Okay, after reading the comics, which don't really explain what happened before, I'll just chalk this up to his misfortune or something.
Oh come on! She pulled a gun, what was he supposed to do?
