A now-defunct motorsport series sanctioned by the FIA that ran from 1953 to 1992. The series was based around endurance racing, primarily featuring prototype-class (including the iconic Group C) and GT sports cars as the racecars. The WSC featured a number of iconic endurance races during it's run with most years including the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 24 Hours at Daytona, and the 12 Hours of Sebring.
