A dark background is not the same as a totally black background.

The same counts for the wings and hair. But if the background is nearly black, black is the most associated color with dark in those cases.

This is different. Colors are more absolute when it comes to backgrounds. Hair is only tagged black because it looks black. Otherwise, most of them would be tagged as blue hair or dark hair, the latter being too broad. I consider a dark background to be something like a dark room or cave, anything where there's the presence of light.

The same thing can be said about hair color as well. Colors are very subjective so this reason counts for every color no matter the object (wings, hair, background). On the posted post the hair looks purplish to me and I'd never tag it as black hair but that's totally fine.
So the question is: Do we want to stay consistent in aliasing dark to black (except skin, but that shouldn't state a matter at all) or should we remove the alias? I'd go for for the first one since it was used for such a long time.
And even in a room-less(?) picture there can be light but the background can be black and therefore black since it contrasts with the light and the object like in post #2000343.

"dark" and "black" being the same is not my preference, honestly. So I guess, -1. I'll admit it would be too much effort to clean the tags up, particularly the ones that have been aliased for a long time, though.

You're definitely right. But we have so much black_hair uploads so i'd be really painful to clean this up so you're right there too.
But I thought it might be good for consistency reasons...
