There are ~40 Tags for TF2 items that are virtually unused

Posted under Tags

While working on some other stuff I noticed that there are around 40 tags for various team fortress 2 items that are virtually unused.

Of these there is exactly 1 tag that's been used on more than 4 posts in the past 5 years. More than half of these have only been used once or twice ever. Are all these really necessary? They primarily cause confusion for people who aren't familiar with TF2 and some are easily misused as they have wiki-pages that make clear the tag refers specifically to the TF2 item, but lack any annotation on the tag itself. teleporter was an example of that but I changed that wiki entry just now to fix it.

Shouldn't these just be nuked if nobody's using them? The alternative would be that people who are familiar with TF2 and care enough about these tags weed through them, add necessary annotations, and start uploading posts that used them at least somewhat regularly.

Most used tags (as # of posts in past 5 years):

Below I included a listing of these tags, together with how many posts use them.

I doubt much will come of this, low number tags arent a prioritized problem and anyone that do care would likely be butthurt.

I do think stickybomb, golden wrench and scattergun should be rewritten to allow for other copyrights. And sapper is already used for "soldier setting up bombs", so that needs to be rewritten as well.

Low count specific item tags for copyrights aren't the worst thing in the world. You never know when some hololive person will play a round of Scout and then get 50 images of Bonk drawn. Thankfully, most of TF2's arsenal is very visually distinct.

I'd say the following, in my opinion, are the ones that need to be moved over to more generic tags:
Eyelander - It's a fairly standard looking claymore and all images tagged it are also tagged claymore.
Jarate - We have both piss bottle and pee in container. Although iconic, there's nothing differentiating it from a typical jar. Unless it's festive, I guess...
Postal Pummeler - It's a mailbox. Combo with improvised weapon.
Mantreads - Big heavy boots.
Persian Persuader - scimitar
Spy-cicle - icicle + improvised weapon
Lollichop - It's an oversized lollipop. Some of the images tagged don't even look particularly large.

Past that, it's mostly fine. I think a few others are:
Sentry - Needs a qualifier.
Too Many Hats - Made me realize we have both stacked hats and hat over hat. They should all be aliased into one tag. And then that tag should implicate multiple hats.

Lastly, rocket jumping is fine. It's not TF2 specific, it's just not a concept drawn too often.

Scattergun and Stickybomb are reasonably specific. For the sapper, it's one mistag and mostly TF2 otherwise, but only post #651265 is clearly the sapper. Seems like a gardening and qualifier job.

Golden wrench is generic enough already, so if any other wrenches out there are golden it's fine as is.

Lastly, every single one of these that has a wiki needs the wiki to be cleaned. They're overly descriptive and useless to tagging. We don't need weapon stats and unlock conditions in wikis.
