Tag Implications+Other: *_bell -> jinglebell

Posted under General

Implications:
cat_bell -> jinglebell
hair_bell -> jinglebell
tail_bell -> jinglebell
bell_collar -> jinglebell

From the images I've seen, the above tags are pretty much jinglebells each and every single time. So, I think this would be an appropriate implication.

I would've included |cow_bell -> jinglebell|, but I'm not totally sure if that would be a good idea. If it was implicated that way, then it would make it impossible to search for just jinglebells (since not very many images are tagged with cat_bell at all). Personally, I wouldn't be in favor of this, but I wanna know what you think.

Aliases:
jingle_bell -> jinglebell
cowbell -> cow_bell
spike_collar -> spiked_collar
hairbell -> hair_bell
tailbell -> tail_bell

Plural->Singular aliases:
jinglebells -> jinglebell
hair_bells -> hair_bell
tail_bells -> tail_bell

Other implications:
spiked_collar -> collar
jinglebell -> bell (though, I'm not sure if this would be redundant or not)

Thanks.

hair_bell : No, post #480654, also with 9 posts it doesn't warrant implicating due to size

bell_collar : No, post #527388

cow_bell : Certainly not, as no cow bell is a jingle bell, it has a specific defined non-jingle design

Though I don't see any counter examples, I'm wary of cat_bell and tail_bell as well because examples akin to the counterexample for bell_collar aren't implausible.

The bottom cases merging compounds and setting plurality are fine, but most of those have no instances of actual use. We don't need aliases or implications for absolutely everything possible, especially for low or no instance tags.

Also we need to be careful with aliases and implications that counterexamples are basically impossible in practice. If not, we might end up kicking ourselves down the road.

I disagree with the hair_bell -> jinglebell, tail_bell -> jinglebell, and bell_collar -> jinglebell implications. A jingle bell is a specific style of bell (the ones commonly associated with Christmas) that is round shaped. The hair*, tail*, and *collar bell tags are referring to how the bell is worn, and is not intended to imply a specific style of bell. A good example is that most depictions of cow_bell (a specific style of bell that is completely different from jingle bell) would also likely fall mostly under the bell_collar tag.

The jingle_bell -> jinglebell alias should be reversed and jinglebell should be aliased to jingle_bell.

For reasons others stated, can't do these.

Aliases:
cowbell -> cow_bell
spike_collar -> spiked_collar
hairbell -> hair_bell
tailbell -> tail_bell

Done.

jingle_bell -> jinglebell

The reverse seems more consistent.

Plural->Singular aliases:
jinglebells -> jinglebell
hair_bells -> hair_bell
tail_bells -> tail_bell

To jingle_bell, but yes, done.

Other implications:
spiked_collar -> collar

Done.

jinglebell -> bell (though, I'm not sure if this would be redundant or not)

If we want to implicate them all to bell, then sure. People agree/disagree?
