Pool to tag: "Hair Colors" -> hair_color_connection

Posted under General

I do agree that this is taggable, however, maybe using something other than *_connection would be better. Connection to me implies a one-to-one relationship. Maybe hair_color_group, or hair_color_association. This would also further justify setting the border condition at three or more individuals in order to qualify for the tag.

On another note, looking over some of the *_connection tags, some of them could be moved over to *_group or *_association (or whatever it will be called); at least the color_connection and trait_connection tags. They should also have a border condition of three or more in the picture in order to qualify, because for such a loose association, one is a fluke, two is a coincidence, but three is a pattern.

Perhaps it's just me, but the word `connection` doesn't imply one-to-one relationship to me. For example, post #1346876 has 3 characters and is a legit seiyuu_connection.

The *_connection tags simply explain the artist's reasoning behind linking certain characters together. As such, it doesn't make sense to impose a number of characters requirement. Example: post #893097 is Reimu cosplaying Vash, and it's no fluke or coincidence that they have color_connection.

So, *_connection doesn't imply numbers. However, pool #3830 does, and the proposed tag hair_color_connection should as well (3+ characters). My main point from earlier is that we should use a different qualifier other than "_connection" to differentiate it from the other *_connection tags that don't imply numbers.

Also, I'm fine with not limiting the trait_connection and color_connection tags. It was just something I was throwing out to see if it would stick.

I agree with BrokenEagle98 that the proposed "hair_color_connection" should require 3 or more characters of the same hair color together to qualify, which would make it somewhat different from the other *_connection tags.

I don't think the requirements are ridiculous or arbitrary. With out them you'll get a lot of people throwing in any old pairing of characters that just happen to have the same hair color. Also you'd end up with nearly all the images under look-alike ending up also tagged hair_color_connection.

While I think some 2 character images would fit, limiting to 3+ probably keeps it easier to manage. Just make sure you have some reason to believe hair color is a reason they're together. I imagine most of these would be for non-standard "anime-style" hair colors like green or unnatural red or pink, as I don't think there will be many cases where black or brown are explicitly used to group characters.

What about canon groupings where the characters all happen to have the same hairstyle. One recent example of this is the Public Morals Committee from Girls Und Panzer (see post #1391854 for a picture of this group). It's more of a group identity thing for them, but one can't help but notice the similarity of the hair colors and styles.

I don't know anything about G&P but, going by "tag what you see", I would tag that triplets. It's not just the hair, they look like the exact same person in the exact same clothes.

(although, based on reading the wikis for twins and twiplets, I guess they are only supposed to be used for canonical identical siblings and not just people who appear identical)
