Danbooru

"Find artist" feature in upload page doesn't work

Posted under Bugs & Features

How to reproduce:

1. go to http://danbooru.donmai.us/uploads/new
2. (for exmaple) copy this url into Source: http://i4.pixiv.net/img-original/img/2015/04/20/04/26/59/49936451_p0.jpg
3. Click "artist".

Normally after a few seconds the artist (yykuaixian) will be found below. However, now it can't get the artist information.

But if you go to any post (ex. post #1988818) and use the same feature under "edit" tab (on the right of Source texearea, too), it functions correctly.

The Pixiv account only has that one image on it, and the user that last updated the artist entry put that whole image URL into it instead of taking the specific filename off the end. I don't know whether Danbooru actually cares about that when doing artist searches, but I changed it to match the usual form; maybe it'll work now.

EDIT: issue #2373 may be related.

Updated

This is a known bug I fixed a few days ago but you'll have to wait a while for Albert to update the site.

It's unrelated to those two. It's because a new feature on the upload page was just added which broke the artist finder.

Also, please don't remove filenames from new-style pixiv urls. The one you removed it from was an old-style pixiv url so it doesn't affect anything, but if it had been new-style you would have actually broken the artist entry rather than fixing it.

Noted. I don't usually mess with artist profiles because they tend to mystify me...which is why I detailed what I did in case I double-broke it.
