How do I tag this?

Surprisingly, the only mention of the cannibalism tag I could find was in reference to the Cannibal Yuyuko pool in forum #69923. It doesn't look like there has ever been any in-depth discussion about what exactly the tag is meant for.

Personally, I'd support broadening the tag to include intelligent beings eating other intelligent beings of different species. A strict reading of the current definition would prevent us from using the tag for, say, a human eating an elf, which strikes me as a bit too restrictive.

Is that really what you want though? Bear in mind that sometimes the same base creature can be intelligent or non-intelligent depending on the series, or even depending on the individual specimen within a given series - this would create the bizarre situation where an intelligent orc (or whatever) eating a human is a cannibal, but an intelligent orc eating a non-intelligent orc is not.

Likewise, cannibalism can exist within non-intelligent species and is still cannibalism regardless. Many spiders will routinely eat other spiders of the same species, for instance.

I didn't suggest adding any additional restrictions on the tag. Obviously, an animal eating another animal of the same species will always be cannibalism regardless of their intelligence. I'm just pushing for a looser interpretation of the tag that would put it more in line with how it has long been used in practice, e.g., humanoids consuming non-humanoids, like in post #2254140 or post #2641122.
