Tag implication: layered_bikini -> swimsuit_under_swimsuit

Posted under Tags

Sorry if my question came off as a rhetorical one. I'd actually like to see if anyone else wants to weigh in on the subject. The implication seems logical to me and I can't come up with any counterexamples, but @EB and @BrokenEagle98 expressed the sentiment that keeping such tags independent of one another is better for searching. Give it a day or two to see if they feel similarly about this one.

The tag isn't very populated (not enough to insist on separate strictly worded tags like "bikini under swimsuit" and "swimsuit under bikini"), so I don't have any strong opinions on it. The examples given in the swimsuit_under_swimsuit wiki are rare compared to "layered bikinis" and so it would make them easier to find with a single tag search if the layered bikinis were cleaned out of the tag. But combination searches tend to work as long as the appropriate tags are applied (was a problem with post #2442224 because no one tagged it one-piece_swimsuit).

Hmm... how about scrapping the swimsuit under swimuit tag and just using...

  • Layered bikini to indicate a bikini under a bikini...
  • Layered swimsuit to indicate a swimsuit under a swimsuit...
  • Combination of both tags to indicate either a hybrid of swimsuit under bikini, vice-versa, or presence of both
    • There might be some false positives with this, however given the low post count, I don't see there being much of a search penalty

Thoughts?

I was thinking of scrapping the above request and doing what BrokenEagle suggested, which would look like this:

alias bikini_under_bikini -> layered_bikini
alias swimsuit_under_swimsuit -> layered_swimsuit

Then swimsuit under swimsuit doesn't sound as vague and wordy, and is consistent with layered_bikini.

As for the hybrids, would you be talking about tags like bikini_under_swimsuit and swimsuit_under_bikini to separate them, or bikini_over/under_swimsuit to compile both instances into one tag? From what little searching I did today, the posts that fit these criteia are very rare, but they could isolate such instances from the more popular layered bikini. After all, wearing a bikini under a one-piece swimsuit would be difficult to tag unless you can obviously see it, such as post #1911288 (see-through) or post #1924124 (undressing). Conversely, a bikini on top of a one-piece swimsuit is way more obvious to see like post #2442224.

Bikinis are not swimsuits for any kind of qualifying tag, just the most general bikini -> swimsuit tag. It's why white_bikini does not imply white_swimsuit, and why also layered bikini should not implicate layered swimsuit. (Although both may be present on the same post)

Regardless, I tagged all of the posts under swimsuit_under_swimsuit with layered_bikini and/or layered_swimsuit, then removed the the swimsuit_under_swimsuit tag and migrated its wiki over to layered swimsuit, while also updating the layered bikini wiki.
