+1 for the change as the tag is described in the wiki, but not as it's currently used. The majority of images tagged with colored don't appear to have a corresponding monochrome original. Rather the tag is used to describe any colored image.

That's a good way to remove ambiguity. I've updated the request - I'll try to go through it once it's approved to remove pictures that don't belong, though I'll need some help given the sheer amount.
