What to do if pic is not approved in three days?

Posted under General

Hi. I've not been a member for very long, so I don't know yet how everything works here.

Seven of my posts were deleted because they were not approved in three days. I've seen from the recent deletion list that a post can be deleted for specific reasons, and then there are times where it just gets deleted if it is left unapproved.

What do I do when this happens? Do I resubmit the picture and hope it gets approved/given a valid reasonf or deletion? Or do I just leave it?

All of your deleted uploads are R+V caps. There's your problem--stop uploading caps.

None of the mods/janitors thought those caps were good enough to belong here. There's a thread in the forum to appeal deletions, but you don't have much of a case.

Do not try to resubmit.

Your deleted posts are caps from an anime and that can be hit and miss with some of the mods and janitors. If you really stand by what you post, you can try appealing what was deleted in the appeal thread. Don't try uploading the pictures again.

I didn't realise caps were so unpopular here.

Unfortunately, the way it works here is that posts that are 100% shit are usually popular (especially if there is a huge dick in the picture regardless of how ugly the female is, leading me to believe the majority of the userbase is gay). However, mods try to keep that to a minimum. As for janitors, I have to say some of them have shit tastes too.

It's not that caps are unpopular, it's just that we have very high standards in regards to which ones we keep. Danbooru isn't a screencap hosting service, so to keep people from spamming the site with them caps need to have alot of merit either artistically or humorously to be kept.

The best static screen caps, in my opinion have to:

1) Come from the highest quality source available. If there is no source of decent quality, it's best not to upload at all.
2) Stitch together a nice panning shot across a well designed character.
3) Or alternately, are high resolution caps from particularly good eyecatches.

Caps that don't meet 1+2 or 1+3 are very unlikely to get approved by me. They might be cute, or funny, but if they don't meet the above then they probably don't usually add quite enough for an approval. There was a mini-flood of Saint October caps lately, and I think the only one I approved was post #384710. Even that was slightly borderline because the source wasn't that great.

The other caps were by and large pretty cute, so I did think twice about some, but in the end I decided not to approve them.
