Hi, I added the tag to images that were drawn according to what the wiki says, a western style with certain aspects like a large nose, eyes, lips, a more cartoon-y style, or something like western comics. I don't think there's any downside to tagging images by art style, there are already things like abstract, anime coloring, flat color, etc. Also how does one look up which users are populating a tag?

There's some tools in the danbooru discord (https://discord.gg/d42BtUz) that allow people to do searches like that.
Anyway, tags are meant to tag a specific concept, they're not meant to be used as catch-alls. Those pics have nothing in common, and I'd certainly not tag Mario as "toon" - that simply makes no sense.
Same thing with the non-asian tag really, it should be nuked. We already had some discussion about tagging ethnicity in topic #15296 btw and it didn't go well. Anime art is not modeled after asian features - non-asian would have to be applied to 99.999% of the pictures on the site.
If we have to keep the tag, I'd say aim it more towards things that are more obviously in the "toon" realm; something like Toon World or Cuphead rather than semi-realism as in the first two images.
Though I fear with that sort of restriction, there would be a lot of debate over whether to include older Japanese styles like Tezuka's under the "toon" tag.
I was just using the guidelines for tagging that the wiki said, but looking back on it the wiki is really vague and subjective. It makes it seem like any fanart of Avatar would tagged with toon.
The cartoons were influenced by Disney's animations though.
This is where the toon tag gets to me. Anime's stylistic origins owe to Disney's animations in general. Such a tag is too vague. Should the current Wiki definition be strictly followed without regards to copyright, a Japanese piece of work could be tagged with toon as well, which is not what was probably intended.

Such a stereotypical art style wouldn't even pass on a website like this anyway unless its done really really well. But by then, you wouldnt tag it toon.
Should probably clear out a lot of those images before you do a BUR. A lot of them, like post #3713088 & post #1651445, make no sense having that style tag. More common than nonsense tags is canon tagging.
Even if it goes through, it'll need to be policed pretty heavily due to it's high volume of deleted work and both reasons mentioned above.
