Koikatu tag should be a copyright

Posted under Tags

I don't see why it should be uploaded for in the first place as it most definitely isn't any form of drawn artwork whatsoever. Claiming to be an 'artist' for something which has pre-designed character models that are altered through usage of sliders or a combination of custom mods really doesn't make me think of it as being "art".

If this passes through then expect people wanting the same treatment for Artificial Academy 2, Custom Maid 3D2 (CM3D2), Custom Order Maid 3D2 (COM3D2), and other such games which would just be horrible.

Does Koikatsu have named characters associated with it? If not, it shouldn’t be a copyright tag. The 3D animation software Miku Miku Dance is a general tag too.

Because I'm curious about it: why is the tsu written as tu half the time anyway?

Different romanization system. Danbooru uses revised Hepburn (“tsu”) but in Japan Kunrei-shiki (“tu”) is used more often.

Agree with ampzz. Hopefully, we won’t get too many screencaps from this thing.

I think it has "default" named characters that show up in the story mode. They are mentioned on this page.

However, these characters will probably represent 1% of Koikatsu content that people will attempt to upload to Danbooru, and that's an optimistic estimate. Custom character creation and posing is the main draw and you don't need to so much as touch the story mode to do any of it.

Maybe it should be called koikatsu instead as this is the transliteration they've officially gone with for the non-Japanese release, being called コイカツ / Koikatsu Party.

Koikatu is used (in romaji) consistently on the Japanese side, though, and most discussion of the game (having started before the English title was announced) follows this spelling.

this page is better for a full list.

What is the reason for this practice?

Well the first thing that comes to mind is that otherwise some posts could have ~10 copyright tags but only 1 character in it which is very messy and possibly confusing to people unfamiliar with the character/copyrights.
