About tags: clothed_pokemon / hatted_pokemon

Please see clothed_pokemon and hatted_pokemon. (These tags were discussed on Discord today.)

Is it OK to keep both? Or alternatively, maybe delete hatted_pokemon and just keep clothed_pokemon for all cases, including for Pokémon wearing hats? (post #3843544 is a Rowlet wearing nothing but a hat)

At least in my opinion, I'm leaning towards maybe keeping both tags. I created both tags (clothed_pokemon in 2011 and hatted_pokemon recently). Hats don't seem like typical clothes. This would be related to the way we use nude, in which hats don't count as clothes.

Apparently, people have been using clothed_pokemon when the Pokémon is wearing clothes, but usually that tag is not used when the Pokémon is just wearing a hat. (though that could be fixed either way with tag gardening)

I don't think the hatted_pokemon tag is required personally. We already don't make a distinction between clothed and hatted animals, and clothed_pokemon + hat already perfectly fits such a search.

People not using tags is nothing new, unfortunately for niche tags like these a constant gardening is required. Creating a new tag just for hats simply means there's one more tag people won't use and one more tag that'll need constant babysitting.

I'm of the opinion that we merge hatted_pokemon into clothed_pokemon.

The nude tag's guidelines are defined by what is considered normal for humanlike characters to be wearing. We consider nudity to be, through a lack of clothing, the exposure of parts that are ordinarily covered. This makes sense because users searching for nude are not looking for a total absence of anything that could be considered clothing (such as hats), but rather the absence of "important" clothing covering "important" areas.

As for clothed_pokemon, users searching with this tag are trying to find Pokémon wearing clothes that they normally don't wear. Now, since it is unusual for Pokémon to wear anything at all, any clothes worn by them should qualify for this tag, even just a hat.

...that being said, I don't think anthropomorphised Pokémon or Pokémon that feature "natural" clothing (Hitmonchan, Gardevoir, Mismagius etc.) should receive this tag.
