Alias to crocodilian_tail

Posted under Tags

BUR #2823 has been approved by @NWF_Renim.

create alias alligator_tail -> crocodilian_tail
create alias crocodile_tail -> crocodilian_tail

Both tags are currently in use. I don't know a lot about the subject, but when I tried looking up the differences between alligators and crocodiles, I could find no sources which differentiated between the tails of the two. Beyond that, this source seems to indicate that there is no significant difference between their tails. Alligator and crocodile both already imply the tag crocodilian.

As a general rule, it's probably best that we consolidate tags for animal parts together when they are visually near-identical, as is the case here. Fragmenting the tags based solely on an animal-person's canonical species is, at best, an impediment to search, as it requires multiple search terms (e.g., ~alligator_tail ~crocodile_tail) to find all similar images. At worst, it produces search results that are simply wrong because a character's ears or tail weren't drawn accurately to the animal we tagged.

This subject has been raised before, such in topic #13915, though we've never been able to gather enough of a consensus to act on the problem.

BUR #2824 has been approved by @evazion.

create alias narwhal_tail -> dolphin_tail
create alias rat_tail -> mouse_tail
create alias rat_ears -> mouse_ears
create alias reindeer_ears -> deer_ears
create alias reindeer_tail -> deer_tail
create alias oryx_ears -> gazelle_ears
create alias oryx_tail -> gazelle_tail

Starting with a few of these...

BUR #2825 has been rejected.

mass update jaguar_tail -> cat_tail striped_tail
create alias jaguar_tail -> cat_tail
create alias jaguar_ears -> cat_ears

This one might be a bit more controversial.

Edit: actually it seems jaguar tails are dotted too, so IDK if we want to make a new tag for dotted_tail. Same for cheeta tail.

I think the term "spotted" would be better than dotted, but even then you'd still need to distinguish between a leopard's rosettes (post #3914617) and a cheeath's spots (post #3217037).

I don't disagree, but I can already see this getting controversial for certain things like fox ears versus wolf ears.
