Black Rock Shooter

I thought we'd agreed to leave black_rock_shooter a copyright tag, right? It seems to have been changed to a character tag some time in the last day. Was this intentional?

It was changed to a character a few days ago too, I swapped it back but apparently it didn't stick.

I still say that almost all BRS images should be tagged as hatsune_miku as well.

Hrrrrrmmmmmmm.......... The design of the character came before it was associated with Hatsune Miku, so...

Then again, BRS isn't that girl, she's singing about BRS. So it could be an alternate design of Hatsune Miku.

Argh, I don't know how I feel about it!

I always thought that the video operated along the lines of an anime opening in that while Hatsune Miku was singing, the audience viewed the subject of the song as opposed to Miku herself.

I think it's best to designate Black Rock Shooter as a different character, if for no other reason than the fact that the fanbase seems to have mostly agreed on that. Most recent fanworks have treated BRS as a separate entity, save for maybe the Chibi Miku-san comics where she's treated as a 'role' Miku has played.

In addition, the original artist has designed other related-looking characters like Dead Master, leading me to believe that they are meant to be separate from the Vocaloid franchise. I'm not sure what they ARE for, but there's not much sense is calling BRS an alternate Miku until such time as the artist says so.

Unless you want to search the creators Blog about her name and purpose.
