Paper lantern tags implications

Posted under Tags

I don't really agree with sky lantern -> floating object. That's like calling a balloon a floating object. Floating object is more for things like swords or books that don't naturally float.

Lantern festival -> sky lantern is also a little iffy. These are two different types of tags. One is a setting (a lantern festival) and the other is an object usually present in that setting (a sky lantern). Most lantern festival posts should have lanterns, but I don't know that it's absolutely guaranteed. It's like saying summer festival should imply Japanese clothes; most summer festival posts will have Japanese clothes, but it's not guaranteed and it would be a weird implication even if it was.

Noted, removed.

I thought the only way to understand if an artwork represents a lantern festival was through the event. According to Wikipedia, the Lantern Festival is the "final act" of the chinese new year festivities, so i don't really see why an artwork should be tagged as lantern festival without the lanterns. That would just be a Chinese New Year tag.
