Renaming other Genshin characters for consistency

Posted under Tags

I think we shouldn't use qualifiers unless they're absolutely necessary to disambiguate different characters. Fate and Kancolle (and some similar games) have their own reasons for qualifiers, but it looks to me like people started inadvertently and broadly applying the same convention to other gatcha-style games with large casts of characters, even if the characters have unique names and aren't ambiguous. Maybe that's because the tag counts for those two are high, and so people thought it was the norm...

Absolutely none of these characters really need qualifiers.

Neither do pretty much all of the Liyue playable characters, but they got them too. It's all very inconsistent. I think Hu Tao is the only one without one at this point, which really doesn't make much sense now.

Also agree. Most of Genshin Impact characters names are way unique, and they are written based on chinese romanization so that makes it even harder to have characters with the same name as them on danbooru. Only a few really sound ambiguous at all and need qualifier, I don't think we should give qualifier to character tags for the sake of giving them qualifiers, in my opinion.

Hu Tao is actually a full name, and it's even mentioned in her Wiki page so I'm not entirely sure why it got a qualifier other than the fact that its so short.

We keep talking about "consistency", but it's more like being a Genshin Impact character is enough for that character to need a qualifier.
