This is a small and very niche thing, but when looking at tags that might be impacted by the proposal in topic #19214, I was surprised to find that there was no tag for panties_on_face.

It's not like that's an especially common thing, but it comes to mind as a relatively common comedic gag for say pool #3171 (Perverted Homura), or likewise "pervert" or "panty thief" characters (Muten_Roushi, Happosai, etc), either canonically or as a fan meme. Looking at what's out there, this is apparently less frequent than I had assumed it was, but for panties_on_face to not be a tag felt surprising.

It looks like we actually have two small tags (neither with a wiki) that cover this topic:

• The tag panty_mask dates back 13 years ago to 2008, and has an existing implication (to panties_on_head, from topic #12427). It's still really small though with only 64 posts
• The other tag mask_panties dates to only about a month ago and has only 7 posts. The fact that it was created makes it evident that panty_mask wasn't immediately obvious.

Despite covering a small number of posts, the age of the older tag, the fact that it was largely used by well established members, and the fact that an implication was involved made me think it'd be good to bring up here. Aside from the implication, this would be easy to tag garden, but having aliases might make logical sense here given the fact that the older tag seems well established (at least historically) too. The implication covers a much smaller set of posts than we usually allow for as of late, but it still makes sense, so it wouldn't hurt to move it forward too if the system still allows for it.

As for the argument behind the proposal, matter-of-fact tag names similar to *_on_head have been the typical style for tags on Danbooru for a very long time now, and panties_on_face is basically the simplest, most obvious, and most matter-of-fact way to describe this topic. Both panty_mask and mask_panties make sense, but they have more of the meme flavor that used to be common in tag names back when Danbooru first started (which makes sense for 2008). It's probably a good idea to update the name (in my opinion).

Two things:

• there's no need to remove the implication if you're aliasing a tag, the implications will be moved with the alias
• i'm not too sure about the name of panties on face, I'm afraid it could be mistaken for smelling underwear. I agree panty mask is pretty obscure but I'm not sure of a better term. panties around face makes no sense and panties around head could be mistaken for panties on head.

That is a fair point actually...

Would you suggest just tag gardening mask_panties to panty_mask, and write some sort of wiki for it then and perhaps a disambiguation page for panties_on_face? If so, that's easily enough done, and avoids the implication issue entirely.

I was going to say that the alias could've been a good idea still, but looking closely at mask panties it actually looks like the tag is for panties shaped like surgical masks, rather than panties worn as masks. Maybe they could be moved to mask-shaped panties to avoid ambiguity.

Yeah, actually looking closer, it does seem to be the reverse case. Using a surgical mask as panties rather than panties as a mask, most of them look ambiguous at a quick glance, but there clearly aren't any real panties in say post #4329843, only masks. It's probably disingenuous to actually call them panties now that I'm thinking about it. I'll reject this then, just clean things up manually, and add wikis to explain things.

Ok, the wiki has been updated to include usable definitions and connections for these and immediately related terms. Feel free to fix or discuss anything that seems off.
