Should we replace ugoira conversions with the original ugoiras?
Some of them are duplicates but there are plenty that doesnt have a parent. Or would that be to much work for the mods?

I know the rules on replacements can be strict, but I'd be in favour of replacing them if possible. It saves unnecessary posts being uploaded to 1up the existing ones.
The ugoiras replacing the existing posts should theoretically just be higher quality versions from the same source.
What is typically discouraged:
Images of non-identical filetypes that aren't samples.
GIF/MP4 file → Ugoira. Ugoiras are not considered necessarily better than their GIF/MP4 counterparts (post #2625276). Upload it separately.
Change the guidance in the replacement prompt, then?

Well, I think that sentence is referring to original mp4s done by the artist.
The webms and gifs I've been replacing under ugoira conversion were typically done by users before we supported ugoira natively (topic #10712). Some have smaller resolution, some are choppier of have the wrong durations, other had weird compression going on, in the end they're all third-party conversions so they should be safely replaceable imo.
Ugoira conversions should be replaced by the original ugoira. Conversions are like third-party image samples.
I rewrote help:replacement notice. The guiding principle is don't replace legitimate alternate versions produced by an artist, but do replace things like image samples.
