search:all 1000 Limit

Posted under General

As far as I know, there is not a way to exceed 1000 posts when using 'search:all'. I have a few questions, if someone with more experience would be able to answer.

If there isn't a way to exceed the 1000 posts, is there a way to stagger the 'search:all' so that I can view past posts, so instead of the most recent 1000. Maybe I see 999-1999?

Is there a way to pull specific tags from those saved searches rather than just searching the 1000? For example, when querying 'search:all 1girl' it only shows '1girl' tags from that initial 1000 resulting in <1000 posts. Is there a way to search '1girl' and get 1000 results from the saved searches?

If not, I think a feature where we could create private pools that are made of up saved searches/tags would be really useful for organizing and filtering, since we could search within those saved searches/tags (even if its limited to the 1000 post limit).

The usual way to stagger searches (often to avoid timeouts) is to use age ranges. e.g. age:..6months, age:6months..12months, age:12months..18months, and so on.

Though not sure how it works with saved searches.

No. You cannot influence what saved searches return, besides editing the saved search itself, that is. Adding other tags or ID limits can only show a subset of the most recent 1000 results.

No. Once a saved search was executed, its results are fixed for at least one hour and you can only search within those fixed 1000 posts.

That would defeat the point of saved searches, so no. ;)

You’ll have to run the saved searches manually and add whatever other (meta) tags you want to search for.

It works, but unfortunately not in the way the OP wants.
