imply toilet_stall/urinal -> restroom

BUR #7252 has been rejected.

create implication urinal -> restroom
create implication toilet_stall -> restroom

Urinals supposedly only appear in restrooms. It’s very unlikely for one to find a urinal installed in a private bathroom. There may be a situation where there’s a stray urinal (like someone throwing a toilet on the side of the road) but I haven’t found a picture like that on this site yet.

Toilet stalls only appear in public restrooms. If a character is in a toilet stall then he/she is also in a restroom.

to better justify this proposal, i would suggest showing us some examples of existing implications of the form {component of X} -> {X} for comparison.
personally i struggle think of cases where an implication of this nature makes sense

As you say yourself, it's unlikely, not impossible. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see a post where a character with superhuman strength has torn a urinal out of the wall and thrown it at someone, resulting in a post with a urinal but no restroom.

As for a toilet stall, I'm reminded of the scene in Jurassic Park where an entire restroom is demolished save for a single toilet. It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to imagine a similar scenario where a toilet stall is all that's left standing.

I don't think we usually imply fixtures/furniture to the places where there are expected to be found, yeah.

Detached urinals aside, it is also possible for a urinal to be mounted outside up against a wall.

On a related note though, there are quite a few public restroom posts that are instead tagged with bathroom instead of the expected restroom.

That's probably because "bathroom" and "restroom" are close to synonymous. Asking a person in a mall or office "Where's the bathroom?" sounds perfectly natural. Maybe we should move restroom to public_restroom to avoid confusion? The wiki already has the word "public" in its definition.

Originally I made this proposal because I saw many posts such as post #975236 where there is a urinal that is obviously placed in a bathroom but not tagged restroom. There are about 450 pics tagged urinal but of these about 360 are not tagged restroom. On closer inspection, there about 3 posts such as post #2666291 where there’s a “disembodied” urinal with no sign of the restroom that do not warrant a restroom tag. (No posts involving a urinal being torn out of a wall or other unique situations were found). The rest of the 360, however, can be said to be situated in a restroom.

Similarly, there were about 80 posts such as post #4785175 that included toilet stall but not restroom (out of 330 tagged toilet_stall). As far as I saw all these posts are indeed situated in a public restroom of sorts.

Still, going along with AngryZapdos’ line of thought, even if there are no issues now, there are POSSIBLE edge cases that can be added in the future where my implications won’t work, so it will be better to reject my proposal.

@iridescent_slime Things like stoves or chalkboards won’t work for location implications because those objects can be *commonly* found outside classrooms or kitchens or whatnot and examples can be easily found. Urinals and stalls on the other hand are not commonly found outside restrooms and there are almost no counter examples.
As for your picture, I mean a public restroom is technically displayed there.
