Tag Discussion: capelet, mantle, shoulder_cape

mantle, capelet and shoulder_cape are all used to tag a short cape-like outer garment that falls to about elbow-height.

capelet was adopted in forum #13654, where a possible mantle/capelet alias was also brought up (but no conclusion was reached). shoulder_cape came into use recently, mostly tagged by denim332.

Curiously, mantle is predominantly of the santa_costume flavor -- which may justify keeping it distinct. But the other two can probably be merged one way or another.

So I used google and try to find that.
I will fix them all to capelet.

It does seem all those tags could be rolled up into one, there are few enough capelets and shoulder_capes. But I'm not sure, hence this thread to solicit more opinions.

I'd vote for capelet, but I'm biased since I made the tag to begin with. I got the term after doing several google searches to try and come up with a name with it. Capelet seems to be the current popular term to refer to such articles of clothing, at least from what I gathered from google.

I still support capelet, I guess.

I had supported mantle, and was the one that tagged the santa_costume style ones that way, but I don't really care too much either way.

I've aliased both to capelet. There's nothing about Santa mantles that you can't find from capelet christmas.
