Mail notifications broken?

I want to confirm before I report a bug: does anyone receive new mail notifications properly? I've lost mine about a week ago and they don't seem to be coming back.

I actually tested this out the other day with a friend and neither of us got any notifications. He also commented on how he used to get notifications but doesn't now.

Or are you talking about notifications through e-mail? If so, then nevermind, since I have that disabled...

Ah! It seems I'm not getting them either.

I haven't been getting that green banner. Snesso sent me a letter through the mail system eight days ago, and I didn't even know about it until I checked my gmail account two days later and saw a notification from danbooru.

I had "receive mails" checked for a couple of months, and recently unchecked it because it was pointless. I've never received one.

Huh, you're right. I have four unread emails siting in there. I don't know if it's been a week, but it's been at least a day.

Edit: ok I see people are talking about either the green banner (which is what I mean) or actual notification to their email account (which I've never tried).

Notification to email is also not working.

Just got a mail response from jxh2154. So far:

• YES on email notification.
• NO on green banner.

I don't have email notification turned on so I wouldn't know about that, but I just checked and it seems I also got new mail and wasn't given the green banner.

Confirmed. I just checked my mailbox and there was a new message from 6 days ago. Never got the green banner.

Okay, it's Trac tiem then. And I yeah, I meant the green banner thingy, I've never used the email mail notification.

Yep, albert fixed this in the update last night.

Looking at that trac ticket made me wonder -- what good are danbooru version numbers? It's one big rolling update anyway, and there never are minor versions to signify when the latest deployment managed to shake off most of the fallout, so you can't even use that to track when it makes sense to update. From what I can see, the value of the version number is close to zero, aside from making a nice title for the "hi guise, I maed a new deployment, shit asplode lol" announcement. Am I missing something?

At one point, iirc, albert did away with version numbers, but then he reinstated them. I don't know, I guess it's something that just exists for people setting up *boorus elsewhere (i.e. if they ask for help, albert would be able to know generally what featureset their version of the codebase had).
