As an approver, are you sure you want the sudden spike in approver work? Or the additional complaints from uploaders about not enough approvers looking at their uploads because too many approvers decided to skip what could quickly turn into “trash day”?

It didn't really feel like "too much" work for the day, but I can only speak for myself.
But about trash day: This is what I meant about the abuse of such a "free day", as it takes away the ability to punish uploaders who upload rule-breaking (but not banable) content.

Yeah, I barely approved anything that was uploaded during that day since most of it was shit and the good stuff was already taken when I got to it, I even considered just skipping it entirely.

It's no secret that the most disliked things about Danbooru are the moderation system, and all the annoying site rules and restrictions. So after careful consideration, and listening to feedback from users, I've decided to make a few important changes.

Here are the changes:

  • No more tag search limits. Now, everyone can search for an unlimited number of tags at once.
  • No more moderation. The biggest complaint about Danbooru has always been about the moderation system. Too many good posts go deleted by the mods. This changes today. Now, all new posts are approved by default, and all old posts have been undeleted. No more having good posts unfairly deleted by biased mods who can't appreciate good art.
  • No more upload limits. Now everyone is free to upload as much as they want. No more being unable to upload because the mods won't approve your posts.
  • No more downvotes. People often complain about their comments or uploads being unfairly downvoted. Some uploaders have requested that we hide or remove downvotes altogether, so their uploads won't be unfairly downvoted. Taking their advice to heart, and following the lead of other sites like Facebook and Youtube, downvoting has been removed. All previous downvotes and negative scores have been purged. Comments will no longer be hidden either just because they were unfairly downvoted by other users.
  • Anonymous comments. You no longer need an account to leave comments. Danbooru actually started out as an anonymous imageboard. But over time, site culture became more serious, and anonymous commenting was removed. I think that was a mistake; anonymous commenting gives everyone the ability to speak their mind freely, without being unfairly censored.

I know that these changes will take some getting used to, but I think this is for the good of the site. These changes are all based on popular demand by users. I hope that everyone is pleased with the direction the site is taking.

I think the only thing out of this i would want is no tag limit...

Rise, rise to become an approver yourself and change this.

Hahahahaha, NOPE. I am happy with just having unrestricted uploads (even if I have to deal with the occasional "know it all" flagger) and I am sure that they don't see me as material for an approver. And, if for some reason they give me approval powers, I will immediately ask them to remove them, I don't want to be "something I hate".

I know! I'm just saying that's probably why people are bringing it up again. Guess it wasn't automatically on for totally everyone in the first place when it was first added, though, unless I manually turned it on then.

You are evil.

I agree. But really bugs me is that they followed through eliminating the censorship for a while. Alas, it turns out to have been a fun joke and now, the joke is over. And much like the CCP raising the Golden Shield back up after the Olympics came to an end, we're back to being unfairly censored again.

Just so you know, it can be hard to read emotions in text, so it's wise to explicitly state when you're being sarcastic. Otherwise someone might get the idea that you're being serious.
