Tag for irrelevant sources

Posted under Tags

I remembered you raising this issue with me back when I originally went through the bad_*, to ensure that the tag could still be used for that given purpose (as for all intents and purposes, it was a bad source now). It is a shame that the recent automatization of the tag had changed that.

If we need to have a new tag for it, source mismatch sounds like it would work perfectly fine, especially given what NNT noted.

  • I believe "This tag is maintained automatically and cannot be manually added directly." is wrong. That should only be the case when the source in question is a known site. Testing it on post #3248150 (a sourceless post) and post #5224724 (an FC2 source) confirms this, though ironically I couldn't remove the tag from the latter without first removing the source (and it gets re-added when I try to put the source back).

  • When bad source started being auto-added to posts there was no job ran to populate it, so some old posts which should have the tag currently do not and have to be manually edited for the tag list to be updated. That might be what you ran into for the latter.

Added pull #5170 to fix this.
