What does "ancient" tag represent?

Posted under Tags

Its earliest usages make the most sense to me, being used on things resembling "ancient civilization." (post #2425208) I'm not sure why random users keep coming along and nuking it from appropriate images, just to add it to completely nonsensical ones, such as user #507781 emptying it before adding it to three random FEater posts.

@tremolo_measure Since you seem to have adopted the tag, can you explain what you're using it for? Some of them have a "sepia" look, but others are just red or yellow toned, and I wouldn't use "ancient" to describe any of them.

    deprecate ancient

I'm gonna propose a deprecation on it, ancient is too ambiguous and broad a term to make into a manageable tag. 95% of the current posts don't even have anything to do with anything "ancient," they're just touhou posts with an orange filter effect. Things like post #4897302 and post #4894353 could reasonably be made into an ancient architecture or ancient civilization tag instead.

I have used this tag based on two comments seen in this post #4780999
any image that looks "very old" I add the ancient tag to it, although, I agree that it may be a bit ambiguous, since the sepia tag exists.
