Given the recent back-and-forth by multiple users on a [certain tag I've gotten unsure what the stance is on this. Should we have cosplay tags for skins or are we supposed to stay with basic character cosplay tag + the regular skin tag? I feel like we are sticking to the latter when it comes to Azur Lane for example, but we also have Mash Kyrielight (Dangerous Beast) (Cosplay).

I believe in a previous discussion on this topic, I stated that for most copyrights "skin tag" + "Character_(cosplay)" works just fine, mainly because most skins are lucky to even break double digits as cosplay. Breaking what amounts to less than 50 posts for most characters (if they're even lucky to break 10) into multiple searches is annoying when one search is sufficient.
Dangerous Beast is an example of a single outfit getting so popular it needs its own cosplay tag. Fate is also just complicated in general, and unlike nearly any other copyright, artists actually draw alternate versions of characters together all the time. As usual, it gets special treatment.
So my stance is that most outfits don't need their own cosplay tag, unless the outfit explodes in popularity and the character has multiple outfit tags besides that one. Hibiki only has two character tags, one being the alt skin. The skin probably doesn't need its own cosplay tag.
However, what annoys me the most about this is that some of the users adding hibiki (cheerleader) (blue archive) (cosplay) are also removing hibiki (blue archive) (cosplay). Meaning that searching for the latter wouldn't find you the former, despite the fact she only has two canon outfits to cosplay and no one has cosplayed her default outfit. People are just making a mess of this.

Yeah, it feels like some users are treating more as a general costume despite there not existing a unique tag for it, and only Hibiki and Kotori (Kotori (Cheerleader) (Blue Archive)) has a cheerleader skin as far as I know.
