The BUR only deprecated the tag, the tag still exists, no one ever emptied it. The point was to stop people from continuing to populate it on every no shirt Mudrock post while we cleaned it up and made tags for the handful of operators that needed them. Otherwise, you could still use it for searching, debatably useful as that was, we didn't just make all those posts unsearchable. it would have been absurd to expect people to go and populate several tags just for them to be nuked almost immediately just for the sake of having an "alternative" to a tag that still existed.
There wasn't really a problem with the tag post deprecation that didn't already exist, and the only characters that were even getting the tag in the first place never needed it, so it isn't like it impacted the few characters that actually warranted the tag existing, that people were never properly tagging. Really, there was no need for urgency in this situation at all, because there's like, what, five characters max that 100% deserve their own tag? Then there's a handful that need to be discussed, but probably don't need it, and the other 90% definitely don't need it.
It shouldn't have taken two weeks for anyone to start working on this, but the status quo hadn't been disrupted at all, so there was no need for a member without full understanding of how this should be approached to go and edit hundreds of posts before checking with anyone.
