Should we keep tags for specific print-related attire or not?

I recently done an attempt of getting rid of tags with deprecated keywords (e.g. neckwear) that feature very specific print with less than 9 posts. In this case, American flag neckwear. We know that nearly all neckwear tags are deprecated. My intention was done in order to reduce tag count bloat while maintaining tagging accuracy, albeit getting some criticism against doing so. However, I reconsidered that what I've done is a mistake.
While I think it's better to tag them with American flag print, flag print, specified print of a existing neckwear type tags (e.g. print_neckerchief), and their appropriate colour tags.

Furthermore, there are a lot of American_flag_print or related tags out there with more than 10 active posts.
Meanwhile this site do not use tags like floral_print_kimono or floral_print_shirt. Users just need to use or search for floral print and appropriate clothing tag instead. Because it's considered redundant.
Should we do the same thing upon similar print attire tags?

I believe it is essential to replace said neckwear, legwear, etcwear tags with their corresponding article. I.e, if it was tagged american_flag_neckwear and they're wearing a necktie with american flag print, it should become american_flag_necktie and implicate american_flag_print.

If you desire tags that do not exist, make them*. floral_print_shirt has no history or wiki as of this post, implying that nobody has ever bothered to create the tag. I would encourage creation of such tags to allow specific searches- Especially to unupgraded users.

*However, don't create american_flag_neck_ribbon if no color/pattern qualifiers exist for neck_ribbon and the like.

If there was a specific reason we don't have a bunch of "print_clothing" tags, beyond just no one bothering to make them, I would assume we wouldn't have over a dozen American flag print tags. "Print + clothing" doesn't sound like a search that wouldn't be riddled with false positives, so I think it would make sense to create specific clothing tags, rather than nuke all the existing ones and make searching harder.

Unless you can cite a forum thread that specifically explains why certain tags do or don't exist, I would recommend against just assuming that a tag doesn't exist because we intentionally didn't want it to exist. Often it's just because no one ever thought to make it.
