There's a typo in your BUR, it'd create a tag called baked mochocho. (with a period). And what you're doing here is trying to add a new tag called baked mochocho. to every post tagged with imagawayaki. Did you intend to create an alias instead?

• you added a dot to the end, so you're trying to use baked_mochocho. instead of baked_mochocho
• your mass update will not replace imagawayaki with your tag, instead it'll add baked_mochocho to every post currently tagged imagawayaki and both tags will coexist.

What you really want is an alias. See help:bulk update requests for the difference.

Alright, so the original BUR fell through due to a fuck-up in the requesting process (as you saw), so I figured I might as well kick the can to give this topic a proper discussion. The intended ask was for an alias, so an alias we'll actually attempt.

As for me, I don't really care what comes of it. I just wanted to see this topic actually be debated properly.
