The wiki for rotated states:
rotated
Use this tag when a danbooru image is the rotated version of the one at the source.
With this definition rotated should imply an md5_mismatch.
The issue is that rotated is often mistaken for sideways (I am not sure if there is a tag for images that appear with an upside-down rotation)
sideways
An image that is displayed sideways.
If we want a meta type tag that indicates a rotated alteration of the provided source, we include "_mismatch" in the tag name to avoid confusion.
Examples of some tags using "_mismatch":
- md5_mismatch
- resolution_mismatch
- source_mismatch
- shading_mismatch (Probably should be renamed to inconsistent_shading to match inconsistent_censoring)
I think the confusion could be cleared up if we use rotated & rotation_mismatch similar to how we use resized & resolution_mismatch
I still want to address the tags for images that appear rotated sideways or upside-down.
The wiki for upside-down indicates that it should be used when a character is physically upside-down, but the actual usage is inconsistent. Perhaps we should use upside-down_image to re-tag some of these images.
sideways appears to be used mostly consistently as sideways image.
However, here are some examples of posts tagged sideways that are not strictly sideways_images:
- post #7125193 (character is somewhat sideways)
- post #6698985 (no "correct" orientation)
- post #6651431 (rotated alternate version but is not exactly sideways due to the 45° initial rotation)
- post #6614465 (character is lying on their side)
- post #6579145 (rotation mismatch with provided source)
