GIR variants + qualifier

Posted under Tags

BUR #40266 has been approved by @nonamethanks.

rename gir_(dog_costume) -> gir_(dog_costume)_(invader_zim)
rename gir_(robot) -> gir_(robot)_(invader_zim)
create implication gir_(dog_costume)_(invader_zim) -> gir_(invader_zim)
create implication gir_(robot)_(invader_zim) -> gir_(invader_zim)

GIR has two forms. Also these tags were created without the qualifiers they should have. There might be more Invader Zim chartags floating around that need similar fixes, but GIR is really the only notable one, so I'm not going to bother dealing with all of them at the moment.

Do we even need these tags? And same goes for Zim (Human Disguise), Tak (Human Disguise), Gazlene Membrane (Enter the Florpus), and Dib (Enter the Florpus), especially the latter two, since they can be searched by pairing them with Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus. Who even made these?

I think the GIR variants are distinct enough, though I do wonder if gir_(invader_zim) robot could work instead. The others seem superfluous, and especially the last two, like you mentioned. They were made by @pipirupirupirupipirupi, I'm pretty sure.

@pipirupirupirupipirupi You upvoted the BUR, but you still have to argue for these tags' existence.

I think it makes sense to have separate tags for gir’s two forms since they look completely different, though maybe it could also make sense to get rid of gir_(robot) since that’s his default form and just have a separate tag for his dog disguise. His dog disguise appears way more often than his robot form, though, so I wasn’t sure. For the ETF tags, I can admit that they might be unnecessary. Dib and Gaz wear those outfits in the comics as well and they’re very distinct from their original outfits (at least Gaz’s is completely different), but I couldn’t think of a better way to clarify them than (enter the florpus). I’m fine with getting rid of those tags or changing the names if everyone else thinks that’s best. For Zim and especially Tak, again I think it makes sense to have a tag for their human disguises since they’re distinct alternate forms that appear often. I could accept Zim’s human disguise being similar enough to his default form to not warrant a tag, but Tak’s human disguise looks completely different than her alien form.

Thanks for the reply!

I do think Gir having the tags for the two versions has merit as he's the most common character on the site and his dog form is much more popular than his robot form, my only concern is that this difference might be covered by gir_(invader_zim) robot. I would treat the disguise as his default form as well, tbh, since it's what's most known pop culturally and the design that usually appears in art here.

The ETF costumes can already be found using the copytag for ETF, so I don't think costume tags are needed, especially when the characters don't have many posts to begin with. As for Tak, she's only got 7 posts, so it's just a bit unnecessary at the moment given there isn't already an established standard for the copyright.
