Implying requests

Posted under Tags

Since you brought it up, for clarity if it's a request from an artist that is shared in such a way that it is sourceless (I'm thinking someone who is personally friends with an artist) would that just be in the broader gift art tag or commissioner upload?

I assume the only reason we have commissioner upload is to explain the lack of source on those posts, I'm wondering if this has niche fringe-case applications or those other tags already cover it.

All I'll say is that if this tag ends up sticking around it we should probably change the name, I originally thought it was typoed but it turns out requestor is a word, just an uncommon spelling.

Reminds me of when I was helping make a better pdf for an old Fate fan RPG and I saw “theses” and assumed it was a typo at first lol

nuke requestor_upload

The only natural response I suppose to what's essentially a bragging rights tag

Yeah I agree it's just that. I populated it a bit when I came across it but I don't think it adds anything of value.

Regardless of whether we keep the tag or not, I think we can agree that not just requestor upload is an unintuitive name, but so is fan request. If topic #22388 can lead to Pixiv Request becoming Pixiv Commission, due to how we use 'request' in meta tags, then fan request has to be changed (also, past topic #26223).

I think it's fine actually, though I imagine there's better names possible regardless.
