Deprecate spirit

Spirit is way too broad of a concept to serve as a useful tag. Most pictures seem to use it to mean a ghost, be it a full-body apparition or tiny hitodama or will-o'-the-wisp. It's also used for characters who are implied to be ghosts even when they don't look like such, and for all kinds of miscellanous creatures from different copyrights that don't look anything alike.
There's very little to gain from using this tag, when there are more specific ones.

I was going to say this might be helpful for nature spirits and other similar "non-ghostly" variants, but we have elemental (creature) so ehh.

You need to provide examples of what other tags should be used. Write a deprecation wiki proposal here.

"Ambiguous tag. Use ghost for apparitions of dead people, will-o'-the-wisp (mythology) or hitodama for tiny, non-descript spirits, or other tags such as traditional youkai, elemental (creature) or monster for other things that could be described as spirits."

that doesn't seem to cover everything, though? like what do you use for these?

also i'm pretty sure ghost is supposed to be like for actual ghost-like ghosts like in Luigi's Mansion. you're telling me to use ghost for this?

also you're saying that "spirit is too broad so you should use monster" despite monster being even more broad??

i'm not saying it's clear when to use spirit but there is a lot of posts that only make sense to be tagged with spirit and if you move them to ghost you just make ghost a useless tag instead

Yes? What else is that if not a ghost? Cartoon ghosts should probably get their own tag instead.

It's true that there are several creatures that are so miscellaneous that it's difficult to classify them as monsters or spirits or something else, but I wouldn't tag ghost on something that is not clearly identifiable as the apparition of a dead person.
