What Does "Disinterest" mean

I'm a new uploader here and I noticed that some of my uploads are are getting unapproved with the reason being "Disinterest"
Am I doing something wrong or...?

The curators dont like it. As the gallery is curated, approval is contingent on an approver liking it.

Default response for something that is is not approved by a given approver.

The vast majority of posts that eventually get approved have one or more disinterests before they get approved.

While that can help, for example some approvers specificially approve their favorite IP at a higher rate. If its high quality, any reviewer could approve it. High quality being vaguely defined, but you know it when you see it.

It also kinda sucks because some other people post the same art that I just did like hours later but they have a higher account (like contributor level) so doesn't have to go the approval thing
But I understand that's how it is lol

Well to quote what an approver told me in the past.

"Contributors are not approvers and shouldnt be used as a proxy for what approvers like. Their standard is only slightly above slop".

Could my art still get accepted even if a contributor posted the same art like after I did? They got the art from BlueSky while I got my from Reddit

No, like the quote said, contributor tastes and approver tastes are not aligned.

If your art is 1upped by an unrestricted user (contributor, approver, staff) it will generally be approved or approved on appeal.
Try your best to upload the highest quality possible version of art in the first place though.
