Riyo Servant True Name Aliases

Posted under Tags

BUR #49252 has been rejected.

create alias rider_(learning_with_manga!_fgo) -> george_melies_(fate)
create alias assassin_(learning_with_manga!_fgo) -> john_edgar_hoover_(fate)

The confirmed true names of 2 of Riyo's servants, I'm not doing the speculated ones for obvious reason lol, alternate BUR in the thread with the true names as the alias if that's what people prefer.

Chat, is this real?

Unless something has changed with the Riyo servant status quo in the last year, I doubt it. granted assassin is all-but confirmed courtesy of the official statement (s)he was the first director of the fbi but that ain’t a true name drop. and then rider is the white rabbit of inaba, that's what she stated.

Perhaps more crucially, don't think anyone in the fandom really bothers to call these two by these "true names" to begin with, though I could be wrong.

this also wouldn't be the first time this user has incorrectly assumed widely-used fanon is actually canon when it comes to character names.

Was going off what their wikis here said, and it was clear which were speculation and which weren't

Then surely you can read the very sentence these names appear in:

Never outright stated, but based on ... she is likely ...

How exactly are these "confirmed" (and how are the inverse ones somehow not confirmed)?

To be fair I just updated those wikis within the last hour to be more explicit. To be less fair I think it would be worth considering why the information is contained within spoiler tags to begin with (I would also downvote any attempts to alias the names of servants from Fate/Samurai Remnant for what it's worth.)

That's what I get for not avoiding Fate like the plague. Moose's point about proof still stands though, just a wiki saying something is not sufficient when god knows who wrote it.

As far as I recall, the claims of Rider being Melies and Assassin being Hoover really got started back with the first tankobon release. For Bunyan and those two, their names were never explicitly stated, but the hints given all pointed to them.

For Rider, you additionally had post #2778428 referencing A Trip To The Moon (something additionally referenced in the second tankobon release) as well as generally the fact that she is characterized as disliking Edison (ex. post #3022890), to the point of class-countering (per the second tankobon release), not to mention post #3679582 pointing out that she is a film director again.

Assassin's way simpler per what Ylime pointed out, the first tankobon release explicitly says she was the first director of the FBI.

Regardless, this shouldn't go through anyway since we wait for them to individually implemented in F/GO before naming them, last I recall.
