create implication white_pearl_(steven_universe) -> pink_pearl_(steven_universe)
They're the same character; White Pearl is just Pink Pearl under White Diamond's mind control

Dark persona, official alternate color, dual persona. This is basically a two-tag search with any of these three. Does it need an implication? I should point out that there was previously an attempt to split Amethyst's forms into implicated tags as well that fell through (topic #32923), though those were conceived more as outfit tags so there was a slightly higher amount of potential legitimacy for them but I'm not so sure it holds here.

Both the WP and PP tags exist right now, and other canon personas (such as any of the Shadow tags for the Persona characters, or Nyuu for Lucy (Elfen Lied)) are subtags of the character of which they're a persona of. I don't see why this tag should be different.
The problem is tag size. In your Elfen Lied example, Lucy (Elfen Lied) has over 300 posts, with Nyuu having only 16 as of writing. That's a lot of posts to sift through for Nyuu without the tag. Persona alone has 41k posts. Here, these tags serve utility.
While here, Pink Pearl (Steven Universe) has only 16, while White Pearl (Steven Universe) has 6. That's nothing in the grand scheme of things. You are not going to have search issues without one of the tags, I assure you.
Just because some tags exist for some characters, doesn't mean every character needs them. It also doesn't mean that they need to stay either, and them still existing may just be a result of no one bothering to bring it up. I've noticed this coming to the forum lately that people just see two tags and think they must stay rather than also considering if they're even worth keeping.
Precedents are important to acknowledge, but when it comes down to it, every copyright will handle their characters differently - and I've already shown you a decision made regarding Steven Universe characters. The tags are so small that outfits for one character were rejected, and that's the standing precedent for this series. If outfits can't pass, this won't.
I would say that the alternative is to not tag White Pearl (Steven Universe) as Pink Pearl (Steven Universe), although that's a very dodging-a-decision approach here and if there any reason for anyone to want to see "Pink Pearl whether or not they are under White Diamond's control", they won't see that unless they search both tags, which is rough for the 2-tag search limit for members, and ultimately it's just official alternate color the most. We don't give character tags to simple palette swaps, although there are some standing exceptions that break this largely because of shifting standards over the years. The current mood around them is negative.

create alias white_pearl_(steven_universe) -> pink_pearl_(steven_universe)
Are you sure we shouldn't make this an alias instead? We have at least one user uploading Steven Universe images semi-regularly, so we could get more posts in the future. Given that White Pearl's true identity wasn't revealed until Steven Universe Future, there's certainly fanart out there that makes no reference to her being Pink Pearl (not counting fan theories). And while "White_Pearl" is in the wiki's Other Names list, not all users will think to use the translated tags feature, and even if they do, they might assume it's a mistake if they know nothing about the character. After all, who would expect the name "Pink Pearl" to refer to a character that is completely colorless?
