Specificity of back bow

Some recent mass applications of tags by a builder have now started to make me considerably wary about what and how they're mass applying tags. Today is about back bow. Particularly, I'm looking to check if there's supposed to be any specificity about where on the back it appears. Today I saw them mass tag hair bows on the back as back bow and this gave me some serious deja vu to a colored extremities discussion I opened a while back (topic #33240) where interpreting a tag way too literally will lead to obscure results.

The language of the wiki also reads to me to suggest that it's about a bow somewhere on the backside, not just "any place on the back plane of a person". In other words, I don't see this tag as meaning to apply on bows on the back of a head, back of legs, back of shoes or any of that, but specifically a back.

I think a butt bow would probably be fine but not something on the head/leg/arm.

The back bow shouldn't apply to the first example surely, as it's not on the torso's back. Extending it to bows on the back of legs or shoes is unnecessary padding, it's not a common design that is interesting to people searching for it. It's just as you've said.

A hair bow on the back of the head should be a separate tag if anything, since standard hair bows are already common in that location and it's often a part of some characters recognizable traits (see Kohaku vs Hisui), but hair bows can refer to a bow anywhere.

I agree with the above, the bow should be located on the back of the torso.

Yeah applying it to the first example seems wrong, it'd be lumping very different concept together under a linguistic technicality.

Yeah, the back bow tag is one I think about when it comes to that Bocchi post, not at all the Female Rover one, which is a normal hair bow.

It'd probably be best to add some misconception examples and what their actual tag should be, if people are going to tag back bow on whatever they damn well please.

Back bow is for bows on the back not hair bows. This should be obvious if you spend three seconds browsing the tag. The people who are getting this wrong haven't even done that.

This is the problem with tagging - most tagging is done by uploaders rather than the people who actually use the tags. It's not that people don't read the wiki or that the wiki isn't clear enough, it's that the people who are populating these tags don't even use them. They've never even browsed the tag in their life, yet they're the ones populating it.

I agree as well, I would only expect/want to find posts like the Bocchi post from the OP when searching back_bow, not the hair bow example. The "sometime seen with bow chokers and footwear bow." portion of the current wiki should probably be dropped.
