sai_(medium)

The tag sai_(medium) is currently split between posts depicting the software program itself (like post #229131) and posts that were drawn in SAI (like post #219400). I'm thinking of making a painttool_sai* copyright tag to use for depictions of the software, logo, or sai-tan, and keep sai_(medium) for pictures created in SAI. Any objections?

Hm, there's actually already a painttool_sai tag. I'll just change it to copyright and apply it as necessary.

Is there really any point in this? I understand tagging traditional media since it's not done as often today but tagging images created in SAI is rather pointless since it's widely used.

I was going to post the same thing as Ars, I would be surprised if less than 15% of the images on danbooru were created in SAI.

Well, yeah, also true. I wasn't really looking at that side of it, just the logic of the tag breakdown.

Yeah, when making the tag a looong time ago, I thought it might be interesting, but now I don't feel that it adds all that much to the image. I wouldn't mind just nuking the sai_(medium) thing altogether. On the other hand, I will say that something like mspaint_(medium) does add valuable info, since it's something that you don't see all that much. Plus, its limitations make the image different. With SAI, it's similar enough to Photoshop as to not matter.

Yeah, I went ahead and removed it from those images. Only 15 anyway.

Can someone change the tag type of painttool_sai from general to copyright? Similar to adobe_photoshop.

As a user below Builder level I can't do it myself.

Why should either of those be copyrights? Do they have characters associated with them? (I believe that was necessary to count as a copyright tag.)

We have always used the copyright type for such tags (software, companies, magazines, etc). See windows, wacom, nyantype, megami.

Adobe_photoshop was a copyright tag as long as I remember it, and changing painttool_sai to copyright was mentioned in the third post of this thread.
