Change log for Danbooru 1.18

Posted under General

Artists can no longer be deleted. Instead they have a status flag which should be observed whenever you're searching for artist by URL. There may be places still where I don't check it. Now any member can delete an artist, but the deletion will be versioned and can be reverted.

- Contributors can no longer moderate. It was an interesting experiment. It's been replaced with the test janitor system I described in the mod changes topic, preseeded with about a dozen active contributor mods from the test period (see http://danbooru.donmai.us/user?commit=Search&name=&level=34&order=name). You can keep track of their approvals at http://danbooru.donmai.us/post/recent_approvals (admins also get a dedicated page for monitoring test janitors). Good test janitors will be promoted to regular janitors and receive full deletion/undeletion rights.
- Post approvers are now visible to everyone. You can search on them also using approver:xxx syntax.
- Tags/Wiki/Mode on the post listing sidebar has been grouped together to take up less vertical space by default. I don't know whether or not I'll keep this.
- Comment moderation is gone. You can now vote on comments and set a personal threshold. I should probably set the default to -2 or something, but it's easy to see hidden comments. You can set your threshold from your profile page.
- Various usability fixes with flagging/moderation from the post page.

I just noticed the recent approvals button(?) above posts. Is that suppose to be there for everyone to see?

Yep, it's a quick way to see what's getting approved. Now that all posts show who approved what, this is an easy way to see what's getting approved.

I'm sure there will end up being abuse/quality issues with this, but I must say, watching the bad comments disappear with one click of your mouse pointer of judgement is highly intoxicating!

I like the idea but having it all visible at once was more convenient. Then again I'm using 1920x1200 resolution so I could easily see the mode, all tags, and usually the whole wiki at a glance. Didn't have to scroll very often. For people on lower resolutions I guess it could be a pain.

Making approvers visible is iffy (too much potential for baaaaw) but oh well.

If that's the case, how about restoring the possibility to blacklist a user's comments, like we had in the olden days?

I'm not too fond of of the sidebar groups, but that's just because I normally use 1920x1200 resolution as well, so it's not really that big of a deal. Maybe it could be turned on/off in the settings?
The addition of comment voting and public approvals is fantastic, thank you.

This makes using tag scripts really annoying. Pretend I quoted jxh here because I feel the same way.

Edit: Keep tags/wiki grouped, mode should be always visible. There's some really long wiki entries that could benefit from this (vocaloid things come to mind.)
