This doesn't answer the question of what to do with the 120 or so posts under hymen -virgin, which still counts as being virgin. There's also who knows how many under hymen virgin that don't have any blood, so go against the current wiki definition of the tag.

This wouldn't be the first time we unmake 10-years-old implications/aliases anyway, because nobody at the time was thinking of making tags future-proof.

All the posts currently tagged with the wiki definition of virgin could be searched with defloration instead, there's no need for negative searches. If anything, an umbrella tag is be better than the current situation.

(I can't add "imply defloration -> virgin" to the request due to site limitations, I'll create a new one for it if this is approved).

I agree that defloration would be a better name for this tag than virgin. This tag is basically for characters having their hymen broken, so calling a character a virgin when they're in the middle of having sex is kind of a contradiction in terms. Defloration is a better description of what the tag is actually for.

That said, I agree with Hillside Moose that we've been using virgin to mean defloration for so long, that at this point repurposing it to mean something else would be confusing. I would rather alias virgin -> defloration and use something else (virginity or implied virgin) for virginity-as-a-concept.

Are we sure we want to tag virginity on characters who are in the act of having sex? An intact hymen is not equivalent to a lack of sexual experience. The hymen wiki already acknowledges this fact.

Virginity just refers to the lack of vaginal intercourse, someone doing anal is still a virgin. It's even used as a joke often in doujinshi when a character does anal to preserve their virginity.

Maybe it's just me, but that's a really bizarre definition of virginity, and not particularly useful as a tag if it's going to overlap so much with hymen anyway. A tag definition that diverges so far from real-world usage practically guarantees that there will be mistagging, and it just raises weird hypothetical questions like whether a futanari character counts as having her virginity if she has vaginal sex with women but hasn't ever been penetrated.

IMO, if virginity is to be a tag, it should be completely separate from hymen (which, again, isn't a reliable indicator of having had vaginal intercourse) and only used in cases where a character's virginity is alluded to in text, like post #326017.
